Urban Wildlife – Nature in Your Neighborhood

Posted on: May 23, 2025

Tuesday, April 29, 6:30 pm, Maybelle Burnette Branch Library

Want to know more about the wildlife in and around our cities and neighborhoods? Join us at the Burnette Branch Library as we welcome the Lake St. Clair Metropark Nature Center as they talk about urban wildlife species that can be found in the most urban of areas, even in metro Detroit.

Large vacant lots, small pollinator gardens, city parks all make suitable habitat for wildlife as animals have slowly been adapting to human impacts and changing landscapes. We will also learn how to safely interact with them as well be environmental stewards on your own property.

Registration is required. Sign up online with our events calendar or call 586.353.0579 to register.

This presentation will be held in the Burnette Library’s Community Meeting Room.
