Now through October 1, 2012, check out Michigan State Parks, recreation areas, museums, and historical sites for free through the Park & Read program.
Library card holders can check out a one-day pass that waives the Recreation Passport entry fee (a $10.00 savings) into any of Michigan’s 101 state parks and recreation areas, or 11 museums or historic sites within the Michigan Historical Museum system. The one-day pass also provides free, one-time access to any of more than 500 events scheduled to place within state parks this summer. Passes are valid for seven days from checkout and are good for day use only.
Many participating parks even offer hammocks for loan. Set up under a shady tree and read, snooze or watch the clouds drift by!
Stop by your local branch’s Circulation Desk with your library card to receive your Park & Read pass. For more information, including lists of participating parks and museums, click here.
