January 2016, Civic Center Library
For the month of January, we are happy to present the Maribeth Regnier’s fashion doll exhibit “Oh, You Beautiful Doll Show”. It features 170 fashion dolls shown in hand knitted designs. To recreate adult fashion knitwear to scale she knits using miniature needles – sometimes called lace pins.
This exhibit shows unique and extraordinary design composition of yarns, textures and colors with precision tailoring. This is not haute couture but reflects instead the styles and clothing we have all worn over our lifetimes.
Ms. Regnier’s collection has been shown in public libraries, knitting and craft fairs, retirement communities, tea parties, fiber fairs, the Howell Opera House, and was the subject of an article in the Detroit News.
This is a fashion doll retrospective showcasing our American experience! A “must see” for knitters, crafters, fashionistas, art enthusiasts, and doll lovers of all ages. Please come and enjoy this show!
