We are currently registering for Winter storytimes at all of our branches.

This Winter we will have:

  • Baby Lapsit for children up to 12 months (with parent or caregiver). Designed for the youngest library users and their parents or caregivers, BabyLapsit includes singing, clapping, bouncing, listening to rhymes and stories, and a time to play.
    • Miller Branch Library on Wednesdays at 2 pm. To register, call 586.751.5377.
  • Book Tots for children 1 to 2 ½ years (with parent or caregiver) is a short storytime  for the very young toddler, and includes stories, rhymes, songs, and a time to play.
    • Miller Branch Library on Thursdays at 6:30 pm or Fridays at 10 am.To register, call 586.751.5377.
  • Toddler Time for children 2 to 3 years (with parent or caregiver) includes stories, songs, rhymes, and a craft.
    • Civic Center Library on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm, Thursdays at 9:30 am, or Thursdays at 11 am. To register, call 586.751.0770.
  • Preschool Storyhour for children 3½ to 5 years, is designed for independent listeners. Stories, songs, rhymes, and a craft will be included.
    • Civic Center Library on Tuesdays at 10 am, Tuesdays at 11 am, or Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. To register, call 586.751.0770.
  • Family Storytime is a storytime the entire family can enjpy. Includes storytelling, story reading, songs, activities, and a craft.
    • Busch Branch Library on Saturdays at 10:30 am. To register, call 586.353.0580.

This Winter’s storytime session  runs from January 8 – February 24.  Warren residents will be accepted first.

Thursdays, September 21 – October 26, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, Dorothy Busch Branch Library

prime-timeThe Warren Public Library is pleased to offer Prime Time Family Reading Time, a free six-week program of reading, group discussion, and storytelling for families with children age 6-10.  At each session families will enjoy a dinner together, followed by a reading of two children’s stories.  A group discussion will take place about topics from the stories such as fairness,  courage and dreams.  Younger children will be supervised at no charge during the program and take part in their own activities. Free books and door prizes will also be distributed.

To register for the six-week series call 586-751-0770. Ages 6 to 10 accompanied by their families. This program will be at Busch Branch Library (23333 Ryan Rd., Warren). Transportation can be provided if needed.

Friday, December 16, 2016, 12 pm – 4 pm

BooksOn Friday, December 16 the Barnes & Noble Bookstore at 396 John R (across from Oakland Mall – click here for map) is hosting a bookfair for the Friends of the Warren Public Library! We encourage all to stop by Barnes & Noble  and mention the bookfair – a percentage of your Barnes & Noble purchases will benefit the library.

Special events include crafts for children and Jingle Bell story times!

Additionally, members from the Friends of the Warren Public Library will be providing free gift wrapping from 12pm-4pm on Friday, December 16 and Monday, December 19.

Can’t attend the bookfair? You can still support the library from December 17 – December 21 when shopping at Barnes and Noble by mentioning the Friends of the Warren Public Library bookfair. You can also take part online from December 16 – December 21 by making a purchase through  Barnes & Noble’s website at http://barnesandnoble.com.
