Come and listen to author Jack Kresnak talk about his first book,   Hope for the City: a Catholic Priest, a Suburban Housewife and Their Desperate Effort to Save Detroit.   The book tells the story of Father William T. Cunningham, who had co-founded Focus: HOPE in Detroit with former suburbanite Eleanor Josaitis in 1968.  Focus: HOPE’s mission statement pledges “intelligent and practical action to overcome racism, poverty and injustice. And to build a metropolitan community where all people may live in freedom, harmony, trust and affection.

Author Jack Kresnak worked for many years as a reporter and editor at the Detroit Free Press and has won many awards and accolades for his coverage of children’s issues.  The Michigan Supreme Court recognized his efforts in a unanimous resolution praising his efforts.  In 2008, he was inducted into the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame.
