Midnight: Detroit and the Underground Railroad

Codenamed Midnight, Detroit was a vital station on the Underground Railroad. Thousands crossed the river to freedom in Canada from Detroit. Detroit abolitionists helped freedom seekers from the south evade slave catchers and local law enforcement on their way to Canada. Detroit’s abolitionist community was fierce in its support of runaways in the face of severe local opposition. This program will be presented by the Detroit Historical Society.

LEGO Bobsled Build Challenge

Children in grades 3-5 will build a bobsled track and test it out with a bobsled and LEGO minifigure. This program will be presented by MARZ (Macomb Automation & Robotics Zone).
