Teens are invited to kick-off Summer Reading in style with their very own party! Join us for a free lock-in at the Civic Center Library Atrium where teens can challenge each other in the inflatable jousting arena, sing karaoke, play video games, create crafts, eat pizza, decorate cookies, a enter a cosplay contest, and have fun!

Open to teens entering 7th through 12th grade next fall.

No registration is required. Teens must show student ID at door or bring a parent to sign them in. This is a parent-free event. Doors lock at 7:00 pm, so don’t be late! For more information, please call 586.751.0770.

With final exams coming up, teens can study or finish assignments at a dedicated study space in the Café next door to the Miller Library, in the Warren Community Center.

The library will provide snacks, coffee, DIY stress-relief balls, a reference librarian, and of course, free Wi-Fi.

For teens in 6th – 12th grade.  Drop-ins are welcome, but feel free to sign up on the library’s event calendar if you’d like a reminder. Please call the Miller Library at 586.751.5377 with any questions.

Calling all tweens and teens! Join us for a fun night of volunteering by helping us put up our holiday decorations all around the Miller Library. We will also have craft supplies on hand for anyone who wishes to create new decorations for the Teen and Children’s Areas.

Tuesday, November 13, 6:30 pm, Arthur Miller Library

Tweens and teens can come join us at the Miller Library to test out a couple of library-safe chemical reactions. The library will provide all the supplies and know-how to make slime, a bouncy-ball, and elephant’s tooth paste from scratch.

For ages 10-14, teens 15-17 welcome, too. Registration is required. Register online or call 586.751.5377.

In honor of Teen Read Week, we are looking for teens and tweens to showcase their artistic skills! Teens and tweens are encouraged to enter our contest to recreate their favorite (or least favorite) YA book cover with their own original art!

Pick up entry forms up at a participating library (Civic Center, Miller Branch, Busch Branch), or  download a form here. Feel free to work on your designs while in the library – markers and colored pencils will be provided.

Redesigns need to be submitted to the librarian at the information desk of any participating library by 5 pm on Saturday, October 13.

All entries will be posted in the teen areas of the participating  libraries and one lucky entry will be drawn for an awesome prize!
