This time of year, Medicare beneficiaries can change or join a Medicare Part D plan or a Medicare Advantage Plan. A counselor from the Area Agency on Aging will be at the Miller Library to explain how to compare Medicare Prescription Drug Plans and prescription drug savings strategies, including discount programs, patient assistance programs, and other helpful tips.

Get a head start on yChristmas Ornamentsour holiday cards by making several personalized cards of your own!
Join Cyndi Knecht as she demonstrates some card making techniques. The library will provide all the supplies to make your very own cards to send out this holiday season. Just bring your creativity!

Therezombie in crypt is still space available in this Friday’s after-hours lock-in at Miller Branch Library!  Tweens and teens ages 10-17 are invited to join local special effects trade school Astute Artistry for an evening of zombie and stage makeup – and, of course, pizza!  We will learn techniques for awesome Halloween makeup, fake wounds, and cool creative results.

Registration is appreciated ahead of time so that we will have enough pizza, but drop-ins are welcome.  Please note that permission slips are required, so parents must come in with their tweens when they drop them off to allow them to participate.    Call 586-751-5377 to register, or for more information.

Acoustic Rooster and His Barnyard Band by Kwame Alexander Family Fun Night: Acoustic Rooster and His Barnyard Band

Cool blues and hot jazz combine in a toe-tapping celebration of jazz, friendship, and pure enjoyment! Every year, the Library of Michigan chooses a great picture book to share with people at schools and libraries around the state. This year’s pick is Acoustic Rooster and His Barnyard Band by Kwame Alexander, illustrated by Tim Bowers. Join us for a fun evening with crafts, games, and of course a read-aloud of this swinging story, plus: some feathered friends from the Cockadoodle Doo Chicken Show!
