WWII PacificMay 8, 1945 – Nazi Germany surrendered to the Allies. Meanwhile in the Pacific, the war continued as Allied forces closed in on the Japanese home islands, with Japan’s eventual surrender on August 15, 1945.

Representatives from the Michigan Military Technical & Historical Society will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II at the Warren Arthur Miller Library by giving an up close look at the uniforms, weapons and equipment used by American Soldiers and Marines in both Europe and the Pacific theater as the war ground to a close.
