Note: This event, originally scheduled in October, is now happening Thursday, November 15.
Author Dr. Anthony Youn will be visiting the Warren Public Library’s Civic Center Library on Thursday, November 15 at 6 p.m. to discuss his acclaimed memoir, In Stitches.
In Stitches, a 2012 Michigan Notable Book, describes Dr. Youn’s “transformation from a geeky outcast in Greenville, Michigan to celebrated plastic surgery expert on popular talk shows like “Good Morning America,” “The Rachael Ray Show” and MSNBC. With humor and heartfelt honesty Dr. Youn describes how his own surgery to correct a protruding jaw led him to his calling and the realization of how changing your appearance can so profoundly change your life”.
The Detroit Free Press called In Stitches “funny and disarming“. USA Today called it “laugh-out-loud“. Book Reporter says “rarely has the chaotic, exhausting, Kafkaesque world of the med student been so faithfully, and hilariously, portrayed“.
Don’t miss your chance to hear Dr. Youn’s fascinating story of growing up and his insight into the world of medical school and plastic surgery. This event will take place in the Conference Room outside of the Civic Center Library. Books will be available to be purchased and signed at this event. To register, call 586.574.4564.
